10. oktober 2018: SUPPLY CHAIN MATURITY: THE NEW CURRENCY FOR HEALTH SYSTEM TRANSFORMATION


This presentation will present evidence of the impact of supply chain infrastructure in three global health care systems for patient safety,  quality of care delivery, and impact on health system cost and value.  Supply chain maturity will be compared and contrasted across three global health systems.  Value of supply chain infrastructure in creating traceability of care processes, the products used in care, linked to the outcomes for patients will be described as an emerging global health system strategy to strengthen both health system performance and patient safety.   The role of clinician leadership, strategies that create the clinical infrastructure tools to strengthes patient safety and quality will be discussed as well as  automation of care processes using digital technologies.  The  key leadership and governance strategies that successfully support supply chain transformation will be presented and the strategic value of supply chain as an organization strategy to advance health system performance will be discussed.  The use of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning that offers predictive analytic tools at the point of care to reduce risk of adverse events,  strengthen quality and safety outcomes for patient will be presented.
